About Kelly – Founder of Eat. Dream. Do. & 80/20 Mugs
Happiness is not something you chase - it is something you create every single day.
As someone who loves to plan and create things, I've found that true success is about more than checking off a list of accomplishments.
It's about waking up grateful, going to bed loving yourself, and doing the best you can - most of the time.
There's nothing more important to me than feeling good, trusting myself, and embracing the journey along the way.
That is the heart of Eat. Dream. Do. and 80/20 Mugs.
What fun would it be if life was about getting it right 100% of the time?
Nah, life is about showing up, doing what you can, and knowing that small, consistent choices create the biggest impact.
Motivation is so overrated - momentum is where the magic happens.
Build the habits, set up the right reminders (surround yourself with good people too), and keep moving forward.
But somehow, motivation is what we seek.
For me, so much changed during active cancer treatment.
I spent mornings drinking coffee with the sun rising, journaling on the lanai, usually with a cat on my lap, reflecting on what truly mattered. I was forced to lean into going slow and doing what I could while juggling the rollercoaster ride side effects of chemo.
I traded my wine glass for a mug, not just as a shift in habit but as a way to slow down, to be present. I learned how to use a French press, taking my time to make good coffee without a plastic-filled machine—just me, my thoughts, and the process of creating something simple, warm and fulfilling.
Throughout cancer treatment, gifts would show up at my door; books, mugs, and coffee gift cards. These small tokens of love fueled my spirits more than words can explain.
They reminded me that I was not alone and my success was that of others as well.
And then one day, it clicked. I needed to have the 80/20 motivational mug, the one I had been using in my health coach branding since 2013.
When I could not find an exact match, or something close to it, I created it.
First, it was a personal reminder of balance and a prop to use in my social posts of the 80/20 lifestyle and journey I spoke so much about, but soon, it became a mission for what was brewing - pun intended.
Let me insert a brief #KellyRant to add some context of where my head was at when I created The OG 80/20
Mug.
With endless ways to stay connected and up to date on one another's lives, it seemed real connection was missing from my life and what I saw in others. Accountability lacked in big dreams and consistency lacked in wellness endeavors.
Here's the thing, women thrive when we support, encourage, and uplift one another—just like we used to in long conversations with neighbors in our backyards, sharing stories at weekly dinners, gathering at community cookouts and picnics, and laughing together on group vacations. We used to have many ways of connecting.
There is something deeply comforting about the visual of women talking over the clothesline sharing about their days, dreams, families and kids.
It is more than just a nostalgic image - it is a metaphor for the quiet, unspoken support women have always given each other in the everyday moments of life.
Side by side, tending to their own lives yet connected through conversation, these exchanges were where advice was given, laughter was shared, and strength was passed down.
I recognized where sisterhood was missing and was trying to find a way to fill the void.
As a kid, after we went to school, I remember our moms would sit and talk on the picnic bench outside, always over coffee and probably cigarettes too.
I recall many Sunday dinners at a family member’s house that ended with coffee and dessert, usually store-bought and in a box with a foil tray, because, let’s be honest, it was the 80s.
These were simple moments, but they were the glue that held those relationships together.
We sure have drifted from those times and those types conversations.
I'm happy we've ditched the cigarettes and boxed desserts, but sadly the sit downs don't happen as often - or ever.
I feel that when women needed AND WANTED to leave the home to work full time, we lost time for those sister-like connections and believed we had to handle everything alone, striving to be "Super Woman" because "we're too busy" for anything else.
Tell me I'm wrong... have you tried scheduling a get-together with a girlfriend lately?
Reality Check: We're Stronger Together.
The Power of Coffee & Connection
Life is richer when we walk it together.
Pick up the phone.
Send the text.
Drop off the gift you thought of giving.
Check in just because.
Knock on your neighbor’s door to say hello.
Use technology to connect, not to compare.
Whether it is a conversation over coffee, a shared laugh, or showing up when it matters, strength comes from sisterhood, support, and sharing both the struggles and the celebrations.
Yes today, that clothesline connection might look different, but let me drive this point home one more time.
It could be a video call bridging the distance, sharing a sourdough starter, or sending a voice memo instead of just liking a post.
The way we connect can evolve, but the core desire and real need for genuine, meaningful support never changes.
Reciprocity is a two-way street—like a shared pot of coffee.
When you pour into someone else’s cup, you make sure they have the energy to pour back into yours.
These 80/20 mugs are more than just my daily drinkware - they're a way for me to support my sisterhood in small, meaningful ways while also allowing them to support the financial side of my journey.
Because when we show up for each other, we all thrive.
My marketing passion's always been there in many, many endeavors. If you know me, you might say it's just ADHD.
Marketing is a passion that clearly showed up during chemo.
There I was sitting in a chemo chair, taking video calls with ice packs on my hands, my feet, and ice chips being spoon fed to me while live (camera off) with the website designers and marketing teams I worked with at the time.
Staying engaged even while navigating treatment was not only necessary, I absolutely love helping someone's business grow. It's my Zone of Genius.
Helping someone hit their goals warms my heart like no other feeling.
Yes, I am a Marketer - and proud of it. I love to fan the flames of your dreams and see you thrive.
Before cancer, during those odd 2020 - 2022 years, I hosted over 125+ live health and business-themed workshops, not just because I love to teach, but because I needed the connection.
A greater vision for 80/20 Mugs is to demonstrate and create a fundraising model that others can replicate with ease.
I've seen too many crowdfunding campaigns asking for cash donations or selling T-shirts that say “F*ck Cancer.”
I get very sad knowing these approaches are the only solution most people know about, but there IS a better way.
In this online world, the opportunities are endless. SERIOUSLY!
The question is: Are you willing to build something meaningful?
I'd like to see people who experience a setback find a way to create the financial support they need, rather than ask for a handout.
Truthfully, I did just that at my lowest point and I am still working on digging myself out of that hole, along with the guilt that came with it.
Rather than asking for help (or maybe in addition to it), create something that empowers you and others.
My vision is to show you how and to empower you to do it.
Sister, I want to see you shine. I want us to get together and celebrate the highs and support one another in the lows.
Let's celebrate wins, embrace challenges, and walk this journey side by side—because true support is not just about being there in the hard times, it is about showing up for the joy, the growth, and the incredible moments, too.
More than something to hold your coffee, the 80/20 Mugs are a reminder to live with purpose, joy, and balance.
They reflect the way I live my own life now: choosing progress over perfection, fueling myself with what serves me best (most of the time), and fully enjoying the moments and foods that make life sweet
yes, eat the cookie - just not the whole batch 😉.
This journey is deeply personal. 80/20 Mugs helps fund my ongoing cancer treatment and the ability to travel for the best care possible.
